Manage a staff of 60 employees to ensures safety compliance by overseeing OSHA, DOT, and other compliance-related activities. Manage daily operations of outside technician of 20-25 - whose work includes the installation and maintenance of residential and business telephony services as well as broadband communications and splicing activities. Major emphasis on training, coaching and development with regards to new processes and quality standards. Maintain a team who meets attendance and performance standards while collaborating with the union to achieve a fair work environment. Motivate team for continuous improvement of maximum performance by celebrating successes, appropriately uses rewards and recognition. Maintain an employee salary budget and develop a monthly schedule for staff while maintaining PTO requests. Prepared detailed management reports and conducted analyses for various metrics. Inspect subscriber premises to determine the appropriate method of installation. Test newly installed telephone equipment using testing devices and repairs or replace faulty equipment. Perform appropriate testing to ensure proper transmission and supervision specifications. Work closely with the Dispatch Center for work assignments such as trouble reports and service orders. Record transmission readings, daily time, and function codes in Work Force Management. Refurbish cable and install facilities within pedestals and/or terminals. Climb poles using either hooks, ladders or bucket trucks, attach terminal boxes and carrier housings, and repair or replace defective lines and auxiliary equipment. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Correct prints and maintain as-builts in accordance with company practices and policies. Transport, set up, and run portable generator sets. Install/troubleshoot high-speed internet and data networks.
