Todd A. Higgins is an experienced corporate attorney, entrepreneur and public servant. He is the co-founder of Crosby & Higgins LLP, a boutique corporate law firm in New York founded in 2004. Higgins is also the founder of Higgins ADR LLC, where he serves as a professional arbitrator and court appointed mediator, leveraging twenty-two years of experience advising parties on complex transactions and sophisticated commercial disputes.Higgins understands the complicated realities of operating businesses. In addition to managing his law practice, Higgins previously served as general counsel and in other senior executive and founder roles for several private and public companies, including Sandbox Beach Grill. Prior to graduating Fordham Law School, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review and awarded the 1999 Fordham Law Prize (First in Class), Higgins worked as an executive in the banking industry, where he held numerous securities licenses. After earning his law degree, Higgins began his legal career in Washington at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he focused on antitrust and appellate matters, including matters before the United States Supreme Court.Higgins is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of New York and Connecticut, and the United States Supreme Court. He is also an active member of the community and previously served as an elected member of the Newtown, Connecticut Board of Education and as an adjunct professor for the University of Connecticut, where he taught undergraduate courses in constitutional law. Higgins is a recipient of GCGNY's Henry Wimpfheimer Award for service and previously helped lead an emergency effort, in collaboration with Yale New Haven Hospital, to rapidly develop and secure emergency use authorization from the FDA for a device designed to permit emergency sharing of ventilators at a time when the United States was facing an acute shortage of ventilators. Higgins grew up in Queens, New York, one of four boys raised in poverty by a disabled single mother. After dropping out of the Bronx High School of Science to begin working full time when he was age 14, Higgins earned his GED at age 16 and went on to attend Queen College at night, where he majored in Political Science, earned a varsity letter as a member of the diving team, and won the 1992 New York State Intercollegiate Championship in Impromptu Speaking. Higgins is the proud father of six children and currently lives in Connecticut.
