I have found through experience that it is much easier to protect a client's intellectual property assets by getting involved at an early stage, as opposed to having to live with less-than-ideal circumstances that were put into motion before considering intellectual property protection. I strive to provide my clients with excellent legal service relating to the protection of intellectual property rights, and strongly believe that the best protection begins at an early stage of development of a business or new technology. This business-oriented approach often results in a stronger IP portfolio with a broader coverage than originally anticipated by the client. I have always had a natural curiosity about all things scientific, and this, combined with graduate work that required skills in neurophysiology, acoustics, electronics, and molecular biology, has given me a broad scientific and technical background. I have successfully prepared, prosecuted, and obtained patents in the general areas of chemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, optoelectronics, computer and server systems, mechanical and medical devices, and acoustics. More specifically, I have experience in areas such as gene regulation, biomarker assays, cancer therapeutics, computer memory and system architecture, molecular/electrical interfaces, and pharmaceutical compositions and therapeutic delivery, including transdermal and ocular drug delivery and delivery devices.
Listed skills include Patent Prosecution, Patents, Intellectual Property, Patentability, and 43 others.
