BellaMia is developing a novel cart-based laser system for wrinkle reduction and skin rejuvenation.

I collaborate with executives and founders of seed- and early-stage innovation technology businesses to develop and refine their company business plans, investor pitches, strategies, revenue models and fundamental investment terms. Additionally, I complete due diligence reviews of applicant companies across a wide variety of verticals. I also negotiate terms and develop final funding documentation for the Florida Institute’s equity fund program which includes options for direct equity ownership, convertible notes and loans with warrants to eligible companies.

Major responsibilities of the position include: the financial oversight of all department and research (federal & non-federal) accounts as well as financial management of all overhead, miscellaneous donor, matching, UF Foundation accounts and internal allotments/awards; authorization of all purchasing, reimbursement and travel transactions; responsible for review of all transactions that have been approved and processed by other members of the fiscal staff for all accounts in the Department, both grant (federal and non-federal) and non-grant; monthly account reconciliations, assist faculty with IACUC and IRB renewals in addition to providing assistance with no cost extensions, carry forward and budget revision requests. Duties also include the development, implementation and oversight of departmental annual budget, creation of monthly financial summary reports for the Chair, assisting faculty with review of their financial reports and projections, variable compensation and contractual management and billing, budgeting and financial management as needed for the department’s educational programs, and financial assistance for the planning and management of the Department’s clinical practice.

Management of all sponsored research activity for the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering. Supplemental fiscal responsibilities include payroll distributions, tuition, reporting, travel and purchasing approvals.

Post award administration for sponsored research servicing the College of Engineering including award set up, invoicing, reconciliation and closeout. Areas serviced include Civil and Coastal Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Oversee all aspects of daily branch operations, with particular emphasis on branch operational compliance.

Manage daily operations of a branch office with $48M in receivables and 4 direct reports. Responsible for managing all areas of branch performance.
