Lennons Solicitors is an independent law practice with offices in Chesham and Amersham in Buckinghamshire. The practice has commercial, property, wills, probate and life planning, family law, dispute resolution and employment law departments.I am a conveyancing executive working in the property department at the Amersham office. I work on all types of conveyancing assignments, helping clients to purchase properties in the local area. I am also responsible for growing the volume of residential conveyancing business within the practice. When people make major purchases, for example, when they buy a new home, or a property for investment, they want to be confident that the legal aspects of their purchases are handled professionally. I like to spend time with clients to help to build that confidence. When we meet, I explain the conveyancing process thoroughly. I then make sure things run as smoothly as possible.I know that clients want to be kept informed of progress, so I make a point of keeping in touch. If I commit to call a client, I will make that call, even if it is just to report that there are no new developments. If problems arise, I will deal with them quickly. I follow up and I follow through. Feedback from clients confirms that they value this approach. It is also good for business. When I started working at Lennons Solicitors in 2009, I had to go out and find the work. I made, and still make, visits to construction sites, where new homes are being built. I also maintain contact with local estate agents and financial advisers. The result is that our office in Amersham is busy. Prior to working in a law firm I worked in other industries. I first began to build up my knowledge of the property world, and of the local property market, when I worked as a negotiator and manager at Stuart Newman and Partners, a residential estate agency in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. I later became an area manager for the Halifax covering Aylesbury and High Wycombe. In this role I was responsible for agency banking halls and for financial and property services within my area. In 1996 I moved to Browns Solicitors, a legal practice in High Wycombe and undertook residential conveyancing assignments. I was also responsible for new business development in this area of the practice’s work. Later, at Harding, Forsdike and Co, a solicitors’ practice in Amersham, I held a similar role, before joining Lennons in 2009.Today, I combine my past experience with my sales skills, my communications skills and my legal knowledge in the field of conveyancing to help to ensure that clients’ property purchases are completed to high standards and as quickly and as efficiently as is practicable.
