Senior Systems Architect
CurrentDesign, construct and implement and/or integrate newly built software or new versions of existing software that automates highly complex business processes in a client-server/web environment with a mixture of database management systems and distributed data with remote input and manipulation, multiple remote locations and internal and external users. System development often requires integrating multiple systems from multiple public and private organizations.Keep DOJ’s most business critical systems operating on a day-to-day basis including but not limited to monitoring performance, resolving user access issues, troubleshooting transaction processing issues and resolving resource competition issues.Ensure compatibility and integration between newly developed and existing software and current operating environments. Plan and schedule installations and upgrades for products new to the industry. Work with all levels of staff in the business and IS to strategically plan projects, resource utilization and technology acquisition to meet DOJ’s critical and diverse business needs. This often requires extensive planning around integrating multiple systems from multiple public and private organizations. Research and evaluate new industry products, approaches and technology directions with focus on how they may be integrated or adopted into DOJ technology. Test new technology with existing systems. Develop new skills that can be applied to current and future projects.
