The Director of Information Development & Academic Technology leads the development and implementation of instructional technology policies and initiatives and reports directly to the Provost. These initiatives are inspired by the goals and priorities of Meredith’s strategic vision to strengthen the delivery of undergraduate and graduate programming and to cultivate Meredith’s online learning presence by extending Meredith’s educational reach. The Director works directly with the Faculty Development, Academic Technology Committee, and the Campus Technology Committee, as well as other key Meredith College stakeholders, to design, build, implement, and support an online instructional infrastructure and related strategies that enhance Meredith’s mission through technology-based learning and facilitate institutional innovation, collaboration, and community outreach across faculty, students and staff.

Consult with faculty to provide information and technology solutions for use in their specific academic discipline. Support faculty and staff with technology learning via one-to-one training sessions and training workshops. Serve in the role of instructional design consultant to the blended learning faculty throughout the development and implementation process of their online courses.Develop online instructional courses using Blackboard 9.1.Serve as faculty trainer and administrator for assistive technology applications.Support departments with grant funded and college funded technology initiatives. Serve as trainer and administrator for a variety of campus-wide web-based applications. Serve as one of four administrators for college's Blackboard course management system.Serve in the role of Campus Computing Specialist for the following Departments: Education; Psychology; Foreign Language and Literature; and Business.Serve as a member of the college's Technology Accessibility Advisory Committee.Serve as Technology Liaison to Disability Services and serve as a member of Meredith's Disability Panel.Projects/Leadership/Development:Developed faculty training materials and instructional modules for use in Meredith's Blended Learning Course pilot: Blended Teaching in an Online Environment- offered in the summer of 2011 and 2012.

Supported classroom teachers in their efforts to integrate technology into their curriculum.Instructed students in the use of the PCs, peripherals and related software in the Computer Lab and classroom.Trained teachers: web design software for class web pages; multi-media software; scanners, and digital cameras. Served as primary troubleshooter for hardware and software issues.Instructed teachers and students in the use of specialized ESL (English as a Second Language) software.Assisted special education teachers with assistive technology software and hardware installation and use.Served as Technology liaison between the school and

Managed daily operational needs of department and participated in the selection, review and evaluation of staff.Served as System Administrator/IS liaison for department and primary contact for State Election Information Management System (SEIMS) and maintained the Geocode (street addressing) module of the SEIMS software. Scheduled software training for staff and serve as in-house trainer for new applications.Administered NC Campaign Reporting Act to: candidates and PACs. Trained new candidates/treasurers and audited financial disclosure reports.Prepared annual work plan and budget for department. Negotiated with vendors and procured all capital and non-capital goods, equipment and services.Supervised staff in the administration of the National Voters Registration Act (NVRA).Projects:I served as project manager for the implementation of a new voter registration/election management system. Durham County was a beta site. My responsibilities included: supervising the conversion of a non-Y2K compliant database (Data General Platform) to a Y2K compliant Windows NT platform; testing several releases of the software; identifying faults in the software architecture. I worked in partnership with the State Board of Elections project management team to diagnose software and user based issues.
