My current stand with my career is I make due dates, I make sure we have the man power to help make due dates. I follow up with outside plant personal with problems that may arise. My goals are to be the best that I can possibly be and hopefully be noticed of my accomplishments that I make working in this career.Specialties: I have strong skill with the Microsoft Office programs. I was given the title as Enginneer II when I started to report to my wonderful supervisor Olga Shewmaker. My job description involves provisioning DS0's and DS1's. I am still learning how to design trunking circuits and feel somewhat comfortable buildting them when I get the orders. My co-worker, Robert Burns has been my mentor since I started working in that department a few years before CenturyTel bought out all of Madison River properties.
I started out in this position with no knowledge what so ever about provisioning special circuits. Bob Burns taught me all that I know now as an Provisioner for Gallatin River Communications. I was building DS0's, DS1's, and an occasional ISDN/PRI circuit. I have since expanded my knowledge with our fiber optic rings and have devoloped an accurate diagram layout of what all of Illinois transport to the towns we service.
I was the local PC/Network technician that provided clients within the company hands on support for problems that they were having. I also assisted the installation and repair people with DSL problems when they were out in the field. Many times I would go out to the customer's site to determine if the DSL and the customer's PC settings were correct. About 95% of the time I was able to fix the problem by either replacing a defective DSL pipe or program the correct settings on the customer's PC.
Activities and Societies: Currently I am learning about xHTML design, Java scripting, and advanced graphic design. I am trying to achieve.
