Establish production schedules and define staffing requirements. Promote an environment of continuous improvement on the production floor and in the office. Manage supply chain purchasing and inventory with domestic and international suppliers. Oversee Safety, Quality, Health and Environment. Supervise facility maintenance and upkeep. On site manager, responsible for relocation and integration of operations between production facilities in NY and WI. The final task was to oversee the closure of the Westmoreland plant; decided by the Executive Board.

Participated in Lean training and implementing Lean principles on the plant floor. Held a Kaizen that produced a Kanban card system that replaced a manual paper system. Led an effort to change ERP from Mas90 to SAP and implemented Solidworks to improve Engineering Design. Implemented production machinery enhancements to a tube bender improving output by 60%.

Designed and tested new products as specified by Sales, and verified that final production was to print and quality standards. Assignee on four patents: Designed milking parlor curbing and a machine to manufacture it, engineered a system of automated gates to control the cross flow of cows and equipment in a freestall barn and invented a clamp that utilizes two bolts to secure a neck rail to a freestall loop. Designed pneumatic and hydraulic powered heavy duty and medium duty crowdgates, designed a state of the art manure alley scraper for freestall barns.

Owned and operated a share of a family dairy farm. Constructed a 300 cow dairy facility, designed the water distribution system, manure handling system and the electrical system. Facilitated the redesign and conversion of a tie stall barn into a walk through milking parlor with automatic takeoffs and a crowdgate. Performed routine maintenance on milking equipment and major overhauls on tractors, trucks and heavy equipment. Managed employees, member of the board of the HP Farmers Co-Op, received chemical applicators license.

Facilitated the processes between design and manufacture; including engineering a solution, coordinating with a drafter for drawings, technicians to make prototypes and manufacturing to get a product to market. Enhanced a patented crowdgate design to make it manufacturable, and designed the electric control system. Engineered the mechanical portion of an electric over pneumatic arm style milking machine detacher. Designed a clean in place pipeline washer; specified the pumps, liquid sensors, temperature probe and enclosure; determined adjustable parameters and sequencing of the software for operation.
