Assist the Office of Research and Vice Provost for Research in strategies and proposal submissions to increase external funding and support for MTSU’s research enterprise. Areas of interests include STEM education, precision agriculture, and data science.

The visiting scholar's program is designed to foster exchange and innovation in data science through collaboration with Tennessee’s universities.  As part of the program, I am working with Damian Mingle, WPC Healthcare's Chief Data Scientist and the recipient of the Nashville Technology Council’s 2016 Data Scientist of the Year. My activities as a Visiting Scholar include:• Learning WPC Healthcare's unique advanced methods for data analysis • Participating in WPC Healthcare data science problems and strategy sessions• Learning about the data science needs of the healthcare and data science community

Newly created position at TSU focuses on coordinating and sustaining university wide undergraduate research activities. Highlights include:• Creating the UReCA Scholar’s Program• Hired a UReCA Scholar’s coordinator• Helped obtain 8 grant awards supporting student research (NSF, NIH, TBR)• Co-authored “The Scholar’s Experience at TSU” a national publication selected by the Council on Undergraduate • Supported TSU’s first Music and Arts Research Forums• Helping TSU obtain first federal funding from National Endowments for the Arts. • While director, the number of undergraduates presenting research at TSU increased by 50%
