Provided deductible, co-insurance, and co-pay options to lower costs to the customer by as much as 25%. Served as an information focal point for stakeholders: boards, administration, unions – who had to agree to changes.• Sold a long-term care plan to a large school district. Obtained the approval of the unions involved and the school board. Explained the plan to over 700 members at once, and provided follow-up consultation to small groups and individuals. • Orchestrated the various coverages – Health, Dental, Short and Long-Term Disability. Participation in the 60 plus districts ranged from all coverages to none. Competed with private and provider-owned insurance companies.• Paired high-deductible health plans with creative funding mechanisms such as HSA and HRA plans, providing mutually beneficial situations for both the school districts and the covered groups. Such arrangements required intensive information sessions and skilled presentations.• Navigated the complex interactions for various coverages and agreements involving retirees, some of whom had negotiated post-retirement benefits. Utilized flexible scheduling for students and staff and arranged a complex transportation schedule to utilize available space.• Supervised preparation and maintenance of staff applications, contracts, and employee personnel records. Monitored performance evaluation for all staff members.• Constructed for Board approval the Annual District Budget, and provided regular feedback on budget performance.

High School Administrator- Responsible for management and educational leadership in the high school.• Directed the activities and managed the certified and licensed instructional staff. Scheduled class sections. Directly observed and evaluated the teaching staff. Provided feedback and coaching.• Recommended non-tenured teaching staff for continued employment based on performance and contractual requirements.• Prepared a building budget for the district administrator. Managed that budget once it was approved by the School Board.• Initiated a mentoring program for new teachers and negotiated appropriate resource time for its execution. Created a triad of principal, mentor, and new teacher which was a source of staff development for the mentor, provided timely support for the new teacher, and gave the principal a valid platform for new-teacher evaluations.• Created a “Teams in Education” program which broke down age barriers in the high school and mitigated against bullying and other inappropriate behavior. Encouraged the National Honor Society to do community volunteer work and to tutor students where appropriate.
