By leveraging long-standing relationships with investment banks, family offices, private equity firms and engineering and construction firms, TA Joyner solutions specializes in providing a suite of services including fundraising, deal evaluation and acquisition due diligence, contract negotiation, procurement support, project development support, contractor evaluation/selection, estimating, scheduling and project management.

Quintana is a family-owned organization principally organized to acquire and develop natural resource interests, with significant position in coal, midstream, oil field services, power and shipping. I was recruited to direct this privately-held subsidiary, which develops grass roots projects on Quintana’s extensive coal properties in North Dakota and Montana, using innovative processes and technologies to convert low-rank coal to high-value products. I directed team of investment and development professionals executing strategic project development and technology acquisition opportunities globally.

I was designated for this CEO role subsequent to holding Board position for approximately 1 year. I principally guided development and operations for this independent power producer, organized to develop world class power generation facilities in the US, with expertise in ownership, operation, power marketing and fuel supply. I led 1,300 MW petroleum coke-fired Las Brisas Energy Center located in Corpus Christi, TX.

I led development and operations for this entity, wholly-owned by Quintana, focused on the production of clean liquid fuels from alternative feedstocks. Initial production facility was the Juniper GTL facility in Lake Charles, LA, a JV with technology and development partners.► Coordinated $140M Juniper GTL Project, the 1st commercial GTL facility in North America, projected to open Q 4 ’17. Evaluated prospective technologies, identified a partner, and structured JV.►Directed development of unit train capable bulk storage and rail car maintenance facility. Directed negotiations with railroad, shippers and local stakeholders. Negotiated sale of asset prior to completion of construction and operations.

I principally directed this privately-held special purpose entity, which developed energy conversion facilities focused on coal as the resource and feedstock. My scope encompassed managing a project to develop coal gasification facility in South Heart, ND designed to produce hydrogen to be converted to low-carbon power. Ultimately, I issued a recommendation to halt this JV in the wake of the political and regulatory climate.

I came on board into a newly-created role subsequent to KBR's IPO, under the leadership of a new CEO whose strategic objective centered on rebuilding KBR’s US footprint. The primary focus of this VP position was to commercialize and deploy KBR’s existing coal gasification technologies, as well as capitalize on syngas market opportunities, defining strategy, formulating marketing plans, and managing P&L of KBR’s portfolio of solids gasification projects globally. I held senior responsibility for business line P&L. My scope further encompassed leading negotiations for major contracts and alliances, as well as performing project management and customer relationship management.► Produced $300M by negotiating alliance with The Southern Company to deploy coal gasification technology, penetrate markets beyond Super Southeast, and evaluate opportunities in global locales including China and Mexico.► Integrally contributed to series of acquisitions, including $500M purchase of BE&K, a mid-sized EPC company based in Birmingham, AL, and integrated BE&K into KBR.

I was promoted to strategically direct organizational diversification initiative, which required instituting new business unit to pursue unique opportunities and new business sectors. I conducted extensive market studies to determine new target markets, defined market-entry strategies, and cultivated relationships with construction partners, design partners and technology providers. I Reported directly to SVP, Corporate Development.► Pinpointed market sector opportunities including $300M coke-making facility, successfully booked under a compensated preliminary work agreement.► Organized and managed Zachry’s alliance with General Electric on the ESBWR nuclear program.► Created and implemented Zachry’s IGCC/gasification initiative.

Here, I expanded Zachry’s role in the power industry as the premier provider of power generation facilities during a critical period of growth and expansion. I oversaw a staff of highly qualifiedBusiness Development Executives charged with client development and business acquisition responsibilities. I identified and cultivated strategic alliances, and forged JV relationships to provide customers with customized power plant solutions. I orchestrated power division proposal preparation and development; set pricing model, and negotiated terms.► Secured nearly 20% market share at peak, by formulating and executing strategic marketing plans specifically designed to gain share of North American power market.► Drove annual revenues from less than $200M to $1.2B+ in bookings for power plant development projects, and generated revenues of over $1.1B.
