Matured the cybersecurity program, enhancing Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) oversight through the revision of numerous policies and controls to better align with the NIST CSF and GLBA, along with increased in-house risk assessment capabilities. Provide quarterly presentations to ownership and executive staff to ensure the latest cybersecurity and privacy risk are understood, along with suggested risk mitigations. Worked with the SOC team to increase application and code scanning, penetration testing, and refine vulnerability scanning and patching solutions for all endpoints. Expanded the SOC team by hiring an Information Security Manager and enabled the purchase and implementation of a SIEM and SOAR solution, significantly reducing response times. Collaborated with vendor management, compliance, and legal departments to increase 3rd party oversight and audit responsiveness for numerous industry, federal, and state regulators.

Developed the Cherry Creek Trust Center, centralizing all cybersecurity and privacy efforts. A formal cybersecurity program, including a dedicated budget, program documentation, and a risk-based approach to measuring cybersecurity threats, was created. During this time, implemented MDR, patch management, cloud security, a GRC system, and annual risk assessments, along with creating and overseeing the Security Leadership Team (SLT) comprised of senior risk, business, IT executives, and ownership, to ensure cybersecurity risks were being communicated in a timely fashion. Added cybersecurity staff to enable a dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC).

Worked with newly created in-house development team and management to ensure infrastructure and cloud-based resources were available to support Cherry Creek's growth and introduction of a new in-house loan origination system. In addition to overseeing IT infrastructure and network operations, my team added cybersecurity focus to address growing cybersecurity threats. Proud of my team as they not only provided tier-2 and tier-3 support but continued to refine the administration, security, and design of our systems.

With the hard work of my team, we continued to modernize the data center, transforming operations from a traditional physical server model to over a 90% virtualized environment within two years, utilizing high-density blade chassis and multiple SANs, greatly improving availability and redundancy. During this time, introduced a more streamlined Microsoft Licensing model through the use of EA, O365, and other enterprise licensing models.

With the help of an incredible team, we consolidated data center operations, modernized Active Directory, Microsoft, Exchange, and backups, and revolutionized application delivery via Citrix, reducing employee onboarding/offboarding from days to hours and providing a secure, consistent application experience, whether located at the corporate office or working remotely.
