I have now spent many years working to escape the new plantation. My professional career working in the corporate world, consulting for small business, and studying history, business, and economies lead me to some basic conclusions. They are: 1) The only difference between a rut and a grave is the dirt in one's face.2) Don't take life too seriously. No one gets out alive.3) When you're climbing up the ladder, make sure it is leaning against your own house.4) Don't put all your eggs in one basket, and don't count them before they hatch.5) Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.6) The 80/20 rule is true. Get used to it.7) The world will change with, or without you.8) Love makes the world go around.9) Life is not a dress rehearsal, and it's too short.10) The world around us is a merciless reflection of the choices we have made. Working in jobs showed me two very important things. Working for a paycheck would never pay me what I was worth and each year starts at $0. Additionally, there never would be true job security. So I began a long search for opportunities where: 1) Income limits would only be related to my efforts and activity, 2) I could build a passive, residual income stream that I wouldn't have to recreate every day.I found opportunities possessing both and I am working it with these goals in mind: 1) In less than two years part-time, I will create a six figure income. 2) I will wake up every morning with passion and excitement about doing things I love to do. 3) I will share and help others discover the same.My goal is to share the opportunity of a better world for my friends and family to be enjoyed for generations. I plan to have money and the time to enjoy it doing what I want, when I want, where I want, and with others I actually choose to be with. In short: I travel, meet people, make friends, and eat. Better than running away and joining the circus.
