Andre and I were college freshman roommates who spent the first 25 years of knowing each other without ever discussing the topic of race. So we decided to go deep on the role of race and the state of race relations in the U.S... and to record their conversations so that others could see what a first conversation about race might look like, where no topic.

I am researching the role of morality in politics, with a particular interest in issues of political and economic inequality, economic mobility and equal human rights. This work could also include studying certain factors that might influence this relationship, such as group identification, social emotions like compassion and empathy, and cognitive skills.

• Led monthly meetings of our chapter, including guiding members and the leadership team through goal setting and strategic planning to determine chapter priorities, organization, and plan
• Led inter-chapter meetings to improve coordination and joint action across local chapters in San Diego
• Led initial creation of agenda for a multi-day statewide conclave of chapters across California
• Led issue expert panels for members on priority issues: electoral reform, healthcare, and economic justice

- Coach for the Career Readiness Initiative, which focused on ensuring that K-12 students are not only college ready but also career ready when they graduated from high school- Worked one-on-one with state education policymakers and their cross-sector partners to 1) assess states' current career readiness systems; 2) develop goals and innovative strategies.

- Helped craft 30 innovative, strategic, cross-sector initiatives with private sector, government and nonprofit leaders that tackle critical issues in the nation's workforce development arena- Developed program design and key topics for CGI America’s workforce development group, focusing on social mobility, shared value and closing the skills gap.

- Helped lead the implementation of a mayoral task force on jobs, made up of 30 leaders from business, philanthropy, government and labor and tasked with reinventing New York City’s workforce development system to combat poverty - Led interagency strategic planning meetings for the task force, developed content and objectives for the task force meetings.
