At MD Anderson Cancer Center, Todd plays a pivotal position by serving 10 years with various roles as Associate Director, Patient and Provider Experience, Principle Business Analyst, and IT Portfolio Manager. He develops processes and supports procedures in order to plan, design, deliver, operate and control IT services stressing continual improvement. He documents, develops, and refines current and future business processes. He oversees entire new patient portal project and manages up to 20 full time employees made up of business analysts, developers, project managers, software testers and trainers.While designated as IT Portfolio Manager, Todd worked with senior management business partners to plan and ensure project objectives were met and budget was aligned with portfolio budget objectives. He provided strategic direction for aligning a specific organization’s project plan and used technology to improve the patient experience in healthcare, simplified care delivery in complex settings, and brought patients, clinical professionals, administrators and IT together to solve problems.Highlights during his tenure include:Implemented new patient portal that integrated Epic MyChart with MD Anderson’s patient portal;customized portal functionality for new and returning patients, created seamless design to maintain customer satisfaction.Envisioned new patient access and on boarding process across all touch points for more than 48,000 new patients, generating nearly $1 billion annually; increased new patient satisfaction by 47% in six months, 75% reduction in printing costs, and increased clinical trial enrollment.Executed implementation strategy standardizing process for all 24 health centers in partnership with unit director’s frontline staff; achieved Platinum award in eHealth Strategy & increased patient engagement.Created a new patient sign-in process and restructured waiting room procedures.
