Manage a legal department with three attorneys, three support staff and an annual budget in excess of $500,000. Render legal advice and representation to the County Board, county departments, committees, commissions, elected officials and department heads. Represent the County in civil litigation before state and federal courts and in administrative hearings. Coordinate, process and defend the County with regard to tort claims, and interface with the County’s insurance carriers for coverage, defense and indemnification. Handle all legal aspects of labor relations matters for the County including collective bargaining negotiations, grievance arbitrations, interest arbitrations, prohibited practice charges, mediation, equal rights matters, workers compensation and unemployment compensation matters.
