October 2024: A project that started in July 2023 is coming to a close. Back then, I was asked to represent Coronado on the San Diego County Regional Advisory Committee for a sustainable plan commissioned by Visit California. (Each region in California had its own committee.) It was a chance for me to assist Bethanie DeRose of JLL and a group of destination peers document San Diego's needs, opportunities and assets. It was an interesting and rewarding process! The plan will be released soon and I'm thankful to be a small part of it.August 2021: What a difference a year makes, right? While every destination is still recovering from the pandemic, our Coronado resorts are rebounding well. Group meetings remain our priority and it is a joy to have a busy calendar. I still love my job and even better days are ahead for the hotel/hospitality industry.February 2019: More good stuff in this update.In January, after six years of service, my term on the Coronado Parks and Recreation Commission ended. I enjoyed contributing to the team. While considering other advisory boards, I was approached to join the Vestry (Board of Directors) of Christ Church Coronado. I was recently approved and will serve through February 2022.I am entering my fourth year on the Tidelands Activation Committee with the Port of San Diego.Professionally, I am approaching my 9th anniversary at Discover Coronado and couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. The work is meaningful and deeply impacts others.
