I have nearly 30 years within the pharmaceutical industry. I started with Ciba Pharmaceutical Co. in 1982, and spent 13 years with Ciba-Geigy pharmaceuticals, within various divisions, until restructuring and layoffs encouraged me to interview in the biotechnology field. I have sold infusible chemotherapeutic drugs, as well as extremely expensive biotech drugs very successfully. This experience has given my a profound knowledge of the practice of medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. This has also given me some amazing contacts along the way. My own successful battle with cancer has given me insights into patient care issues that I would otherwise never have gained.As a Senior Oncology Representative with Ciba Oncology, I led the nation in sales. I know my way around major medical centers. As a Medical Center Specialist I called on every NCI comprehensive cancer center in the central United States. It was during this time that I was able to facilitate a major pharmaceutical transaction with a province in the Russian Federation, and help a local cancer center gain NCI recognition, which in turn allowed them to gain critical funding. With the exception of three years, I was either the number one or number two representative promoting the major product within my region or district. On four occassions I attaining the highest sales in the country with Ciba-Geigy winning the Circle of excellence award; I earned the Circle of Excellence National Sales Award with Endo Pharma 4 times during my 5 years of eligibility..At least 3 coworkers have recognized me for helping them win a national sales award.
