I am a strategic leader who enables individuals and organizations to reach their full potential. As an entrepreneurial leader, I helped one small company go public and two others turnaround and exit to acquisition by igniting business development fueled transformation and yielding record levels of profitability. I’ve led and written successful proposals resulting in opportunities valued at over $5B from defense, civil, and commercial space customers for programs of various scale from small business innovative research awards to large Federal Acquisition Regulation contracts. Leveraging 35 years of technical engineering and program management experience, I solve customer’s complex problems quickly by applying modern agile and lean techniques, as well as traditional systems engineering and business acumen to accomplish more with less. I have delivered both robotic spacecraft and human spaceflight programs providing technical authority and successful execution of all mechanical and electrical disciplines from end-to-end of the product lifecycle, including manufacturing and launch. I've taught as a faculty member at three universities and published over 70 journal and conference papers. As a National Academies recognized expert, I participated on seven different committees including as the Chair presenting results of Review of NASA’s technology portfolio to high-ranking government officials at NASA, Congress, and the Executive Branch. I was appointed to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Board of Trustees, where I am also an Associate Fellow.
