Served as project lead for a Materials Handling Interface, between an automated vault retrieval system and the Reserve’s CAS application. This application was written in both RPG and COBOL, on the AS/400 platform. Responsibilities included full project scope and analysis, supervision of development and support staff, along with program development and implementation. Also served as lead technical writer to insure proper design documentation. Involved in the development of an Open Access application, tying the monetary sorting machines to the CAS application. This design was done using Visual Basic with a SQL Server database. I was also given opportunities to assist the Oracle DBA team with maintenance and development tasks. A portion of my Oracle duties also included support and tuning of the Peoplesoft Human Resources package, using Tuxedo middleware, tied to a Sun/Solaris Unix server. Completed a year 2000 conversion for a currency application on the AS/400 platform. This project was my primary responsibility on this assignment and I personally converted approximately 90% of the source code, written in both RPG and COBOL, along with both unit and application testing to insure proper functionality. This type of global overhaul strengthened my project management and solution planning skills, while also allowing me the freedom to make important coding logic decisions concerning the approach to attaining year 2000 compliance. The Federal Reserve’s staff and management were very supportive and creative during the process which allowed me to continually improve my career in the IT arena.
