I was born and raised in Camilla, a small town in southwest Georgia. After completing high school I went to Valdosta State University on a football scholarship. After two seasons, I transferred to the University of Georgia with the ultimate goal of becoming an attorney. I eventually went to law school at Mercer University where I was a member of Mercer's Law Review and graduated Cum Laude and finished in the top 5% of my class. I initially began practicing law in the field of insurance defense and mainly handled cases defending large corporations. I tried numerous cases and spearheaded many appeals to the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. I was intrinsically involved in the Supreme Court cases, Robinson v. Kroger, which set the applicable legal standard for summary judgement in premises liability cases in the state of Georgia.When I'm not with my clients, you can find me playing golf or deep sea fishing. My wife and I are also very involved in PADV (Partnership Against Domestic Violence).
