About Todd Pavel

I've spent most of my professional life learning how best to help others - first as an educator and more recently as a champion of social entrepreneurs. A passion for more inclusivity - and a level playing field - has driven this work. Belief in every student's ability to excel informed my teaching practice for 20 years. Interest in and compassion for students' respective learning journeys did, too. I dismantled teacher-centred paradigms and facilitated often unpredictable but always fruitful student-generated enquiry. Mentors at the American School of Doha were pivotal in my development as an 'everyone a learner' professional.More recent work with Ashoka has built on that experience. The organisation commits to an 'Everyone a Changemaker' world. I've supported that mission by helping to identify impactful social entrepreneurs and then champion them for election to our Fellowship. More than 4,000 Fellows across 90+ countries have crafted new and system-changing solutions to social and environmental challenges that make communities fairer, more inclusive and more sustainable. More and more people are empowered to make change themselves as a result.
