Team Lead/Manager: Leading and managing the software team for the development of sensor and processing system for the United States Air Force. Directing efforts of 7 local developers while collaborating with external teams of more than 50 engineers, operators and managers.Systems Engineer: Developing and managing requirements and architecture for both commercial and military airborne sensor systems. System design has included visible and infrared sensor selection for gimbal stabilized platforms and data processing hardware selection and integration. Responsibilities have included requirements definition, proposal writing, sensor/lens selection and calibration, imagery acquisition and processing, system integration and flight support, mission planning and concept of operations.Software Engineer: Software design for web-based near-realtime, distributed processing and analysis of wide area airborne data (WAMI/WAAS/WAPS). Development of software and hardware for real-time gimbal control, sensor control and data/image acquisition, orthographic 3-D projection processing for geospatial analysis, and image processing. Experience with all levels of FPGA design including but not limited to group management, technical leadership, system architecture, requirements capture, VHDL implementation, simulation, verification, synthesis, and lab integration.Industry standard tool experience including Modelsim, Synplify, Xilinx, CVS/SVN, on Linux and Solaris operating systems. Designs include FPGAs for high-speed video conversion, processing, and distribution using multi-gigabit SERDES. Coordinating the work flow and processes of FPGA development teams, implementing open source tools to facilitate the design flow. Projects have varied from VMEbus card design using Mentor Graphics to software programming for multiple platforms using Borland, Watcom and MS Visual Studio. As the focal point engineer for the Display Glass Assembly Test Set responsibilities include next generation test set design, current design debug and update, and PC software design and management. The VMEbus design required skills in digital design using FPGA’s, project planning, extensive electric debugging, and bus analysis. Created a software toolset featuring Windows NT GUI’s for PC based graphics control of Honeywell high resolution display units. Provided software support for LCD color and video driver analysis via Win NT based GUI’s. Responsible for redesign of older board for overall update of display system for use on the Boeing 777 and 737 families. Also provide video and graphics support.

Responsibilities included analog and digital design, PCB design, microcontroller programming, project planning and project quoting. Projects have varied from circuit design for OEM products, to C programming of Intel microcontrollers for use in various products including power management and analysis, and vending machine control. System integration, project management, and production management are areas that I have also been directly involved with.

Working as a co-op for the engineering department. Projects varied from designing an anti-stat adhesive for a polyester-polystyrene tray, to electrical schematics and electrical support such as PLC programming, Data Acquisition and analysis, digital and analog circuit design, and computer technical support. Evaluated, programmed, and installed a data acquisition package for use in production.
