I am responsible for finance for all of TransUnion's international business covering over 25 countries in all parts of the world. This covers the full scope of operational finance roles including, accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), cash management, etc. As CFO I have been instrumental in partnering with the business to help drive over 18% annual growth. I headed the finance side of 4 strategic acquisitions inclding due diligence and the business integration phase. Additionally, I have overseen the upgrade and implementation of common financial systems around the world and the integration / centralization of business activies into regional offices.

I was broght to Ziplocal by the private equity owners to help grow the business and prepare them for a future sale or initial public offering (IPO). In the two years I was with the company I helped grow the business organically as well as through strategic acquisitions. Working with Goldman Sachs I was able to set up funding mechanisms to provide funding until we were able to sell the company. Including the acquisitions, Ziplocal increased its publishing from approximately 140 independent directories across 22 states to 245 books across 30 states We were successful growing Ziplocal LP even during the 2008-2009 recession when multi-media advertising companies were struggling with declining revenue. Through re-engineering key processes, increasing productivity and reducing staff we were able to successfully scale the business during difficult times. Additionally, I was able to renegotiate paper prices in the face of falling commodity prices in the market and re-evaluate and adjusted print quantities across all 165 markets. As a result of these efforts EBITDA increased from a negative $2M in 2008 to a positive $10M in 2009.

I had a fantastic time during my long tenure at Dell Computers. Among my achievements, Improving the cash flow of Dell Computers in Mexico. First by outsourcing collections to keep the process moving while we fixed both system and process issues. We initiated 16 Six Sigma process projects and brought in IT resources from the US which allowed us to reduce DSO from over 180 days to 35-days significantly improving cash flow. When operations were floundering at Dell's new manufacturing plant in Brazil, I was again called on to turn it around. Working with the business we implemented changes throughout the plant including bringing in a new management team; redesigning pricing policies; reducing costs and waste with improved reporting systems and processes; and improving manufacturing capacity utilization. We completely redirected the marketing and product strategies aiming them toward large and global companies and putting less emphasis on the consumer side. Within three years Dell Brazil was #1 in market share across all key product lines, generating positive operating income, and achieving average revenue growth of 35% year over year. A more "taxing" problem was discovered in Dell Brazil. The company was faced with over $21M in under reported or non-reported tax exposures. Partnerning with the international and local tax functions we formed a cross-functional multi-national team to analyze and solve the problem. We separated the various tax issues into categories along with the amount of exposure each issue posed. Not only did team mitigate nearly all of the exposure, the amounts that were paid to the government were via an amnesty program costing only 75 cents on each exposed dollar and we were never assessed interest or penalty fees.We were also able to manage Dell Brazil’s net FX exposure by using a balance sheet and operational hedges thus avoiding the costs of a formal hedging program reducing our hedge cost from $10M to $1M.

During my 12 year tenure at Kodak I served in various functions from Internal Audit, to Finance Director for Argentian and Uruguay, to Latin American Regional Controller and finally as Senior Manager of Finance and Administration for the Latin American Region. During this time I managed at some point all financial functions related to Kodak's operations in in Latin America. I consider one of my key accomplishments my role as finance head in Argentina and Uruguay. During this time I managed the Argentine business to maintain profitability even in the midst of 3 years of hyper-inflation after the Alfonsin governement collapsed. As controller I assisted in standardizing the chart of accounts across all the countries and the implementation of Oracle financials.
