Early formative work experiences included strategy consulting at Bain & Company; Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, the first global fellowship for social entrepreneurs; Public Allies, a national movement for advancing social justice and equity by engaging and activating the leadership of diverse young people; The MetaSystems Design Group and The Meta Network, one of the first two online social networks; serving at the Venture Catalyst for the Chairman of passion media company Imagine Media; co-founding TED Salon Tokyo and TEDxTokyo, one of the first two alpha TEDxes and serving as a founding TEDx Ambassador to help grow the national, regional and global movement; developing the playbook to expand the original FabCafe globally; and co-founding IMPACT Foundation Japan.
