I am currently a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and have been active duty for over 28 years. I have grown through the ranks from Airman Basic to Chief all within the Civil Engineer career path. I started out as a Heavy Equipment Operator but with experience comes management. For the past 8 years I have been in various leadership roles leading large diverse teams of engineers. My current role is the MAJCOM Functional Manager at Joint Base San Antonio. I have been stationed at 10 separate bases during my career and have a great breadth of experience in all aspect of Civil Engineering. I have been on 6 contingency deployments to the Middle East in support of numerous named campaigns. I consider my career extremely successful and have been decorated on numerous occasions for work that my team and I were able to accomplish. The pinnacle was winning the award for the Best Civil Engineer Superintendent for the Air Force in 2016. My career paths have led me to be qualified in many different aspects of Civil Engineering. I have been trained in Explosive demolition, crane certification from the Crane Institute of America, Tilt-Up Construction manager certification from the American Concrete Institute, and I have been trained in concrete and asphalt batch plant operations.
