Was responsible for the upkeep of the cameras, putting up sets, taking photos when photographer stepped away, photo styling/food styling. I had several photos chosen to be printed in the tabloid catalogs that are distributed world wide to all the branches of the military and their families. I learned a lot about photography at this job and I met a lot of cool people.

I was involved with Splash Media as their digital editor. I worked with several of their enterprises, including The Success and Training Network, Trader's Television, and many special projects. I met so many talented people that continue to inspire me on a daily basis. I continued to learn about the craft of editing and interacting with creative people. Splash is a great company that has done many great things, and continues to do so.

I began at BNC as a nighttime editor. I helped them design, develop, implement and manage an offsite editing facility in the Addison Circle. After that facility, nicknamed "the Bakery" grew to 3 fulltime editors and various freelancers working 2 shifts, BNC moved into their own facility.With them I worked on corporate marketing both long and short form as well as infomercials that were broadcast on several national networks. I won several awards for the worked done at BNC including Aegis and Telly awards.

I learned so much while I was at WFAA. As a part of the promotions department, I had my introduction to working with film in addition to video. I learned the importance of promotion and marketing from such professionals as Jim Glass, Dave Muscari and Cathy Helean. All with vast experience in promotion, marketing and management. In addition to my daily duties, I developed procedures and products that are still implemented today. I proudly worked on several special corporate projects including the implementation of the cue cat. Although not a successful venture, the cue cat was one of the first attempts at integrating the television and the computer. I am very proud of my accomplishments at WFAA which include winning 4 EMMYs, one for the craft of editing.

I learned a lot working at AMS Productions. I worked on a variety of different types of programming in a linear capacity, then AMS sent me to AVID training and that really ignited a passion for digital non-linear editing. I was there during the construction of their new facility "Disney on the Tollway", and I have the distinction of performing the first edit session, even as final construction was going on. I helped pull/dress cable and create connectors, which taught me my most valuable lesson, that of signal flow and troubleshooting. After helping with that, I had a much better knowledge of how a signal flows through an edit suite which therefore helped me become a pretty good trouble shooter. I met some talented people and I will always value my time spent at AMS.

This was my first job in the industry. I started back in the warehouse sweeping, mopping and doing a little grip work. I got experience with lighting, studio camera, set design and tape operation. Then I took a step, I asked for guidance and learned to edit and told my manager that whenever the editor went on vacation, I could cover for him. I finally got a chance and the rest is history. I eventuall became the IPS (offline) editor, then got promoted to "the big room" and began to develop my editing skill on a linear Grass Valley edit system that took up 2 huge rooms to house all the equipment needed. I feel that learning to edit in the linear world was an extremely valuable tool that has helped me in more ways than I could mention, but include pre-planning and thinking a couple of edits ahead. It also forced you to make good design choices BEFORE you committed to them, cause there was basically no "apple-z" or undo.
