I was a field services engineer for the eastern half of Colas US, and I also managed the binder and emulsion laboratory in Cincinnati.

I worked with technical and sales personnel to produce products that meet customer needs. My activities included coordinating laboratory and field studies, analyzing data, preparing presentations, and meeting with customers. The goal was to understand customer needs and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of how a new product fits their needs, from project selection to design to total life cycle.

I worked with others in the company on a streamlined method of commercializing new products in the asphalt industry. I have also been a technology platform leader in full depth reclamation and cold in place recycling.

I worked with my colleagues in the development of improved cold-in-place recycling (CIR) and full depth reclamation (FDR). This not only included lab work but field experimentation also. I also studied structural aspects of these products.
