Represent manufacturers to NW Iowa farmers that represent the best-in-industry lines that uphold my philosophies of corn production. Consulting with area farmers and providing the technology to maximize yield potential and manage around environmental factors.

Rented 160 acres of crop production farm ground. I am responsible for all aspects of the farming operation from budgeting, marketing, fertilizer, pesticide (insecticide, herbicide & fungicide), seed, equipment and aligning custom work and transportation. I use this farm for research by utilizing the technologies I represent but also for side-by-side comparisons, management practices and hi-bred response to those practices.

Responsible for all aspects of the business from managing day-to-day operations, short- and long-term financials and operations of a full service Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. Sales Agency• Plan for future direction of the business and vendor relations, new lines of business and services• Marketing of programs, products and services including the full line of Encrica® Services. • Constructed a new office and 60’ x 100’ warehouse filled with technology including an IP-based security camera system, IP network and VoIP phone system• Implemented a state-of-the-art soybean treating facility with Bayer seed treater, bulk bins, conveyors and fully automated KSi AutoTreat through the IP network• Sales representative for Independent Inputs, LLC which supplies the Pioneer proprietary seed treatment (PPST®) to 10-12 other Pioneer reps• Certified Precision Ag Dealer for Raven® Industries for the area.

Elected to 2 consecutive terms to the Holstein City Council with landslide margins. Integral role in annexing 50-acre industrial park, budgeting, tax revenue projections, lobbying, managing UR, TIF and development agreements. Worked closely with city attorney (Cosgrove Law), bonding attorney (Pipe & Jaffrey) and local financial leaders to bond the infrastructure for the new development. Participated on all committees during tenure including personnel, Parks & Rec, budget, etc. Member of the personnel committee to hire the City Administrator. Driver for developing short- and long-term Strategic Plans. Worked with local business leaders, citizens and outside organizations such as SIMPCO, Western Iowa Advantage as well as utilities. Oversaw administrator and employees in advisory capacity.

Actively pursued, maintained and consulted with new and existing Farm Operators on their production goals and issues and developed long standing relationships by actively listening to their needs; relationships that are maintained today. Responsible for Pre-Sales activity, implementation. Lead Engineer on projects and Post-Sales Support. Designed and consulted on new and existing LAN, WAN and Voice implementations. Possess extensive knowledge in cabling infrastructure design and installation, Systems Integration, network connectivity issues between various network platforms and equipment, and coexistence of multi-protocol environments such as IP and SNA and meeting the customers’ business requirements. Obtained Cisco CCIE status.

Designed, installed and conducted troubleshooting techniques for large corporate customers’ LAN’s and WAN’s on a national basis. IBM Technical Advisor for the AmeriData, Inc. Milwaukee Office. Novell and Microsoft certified as well as a networking specialist and engineer, and had attained numerous vendor/industry certifications.

Responsible for the implementation and management of a 160-node network consisting of Novell 3.11, Novell MHS, Novell NAS, and Novell 3270 Gateway to an IBM 3090, Da Vinci E-Mail and FAX Server, all of which were the first of their kind within the State of Iowa agencies. Held other roles in the beginning of my career working with the State Economist to provide the Governor’s office with statistics including a state tax comparison study and development of the Iowa Manufacturer’s Directory as well as work with RED Centers.
