Shots Heard Round the World started 9/2017 in reaction to a global coordinated Anti-Vaccine attack on our Kids Plus Pediatrics (KPP) practice for producing & posting an HPV Vaccine Advocacy 90sec PSA video on our Facebook page. We formed a non-profit 3/2020 to house the work and mission: “To support and promote vaccination by empowering and galvanizing vaccine advocates”. By 1/2021 'Shots Heard' was fully transitioned over to the Public Good Projects (PGP) as one of their vaccine advocacy projects. Chad Hermann KPP Communications Director and I are proud cofounders of 'Shots Heard'.‘Shots Heard’ utilizes 1) Research, 2) Digital Cavalry, 3) Anti-Anti-Vaxx Toolkit 4) Awareness Campaign to confront large scale Anti-Vaxx disinformation campaigns and weaponized social media attacks on vaccine advocates (clinicians, public health, researchers & others).In 1/2021 I joined PGP as a Senior Advisor on their vaccine advocacy work.

I am a proud member of the SOBr-AAP an broad group of pediatricians dedicated to promoting and supporting breastfeeding the evidenced-based, optimal way to provide nutrition to an infant during the first year of life. It was a privileged to have served on the AAP-SOBr Executive Committee 2008-2014 as a liaison from AAP-SOAPM. As Chief Medical Advisor I am helping to focus ways to optimize the medical waiting room experience for both the family and physician. Using a mutlifaceted Digital Resource the quality of patient care can be significantly improved.

As a Board member for over a decade, I aggressively pursued improved Insurance/Payer contracts, Supplier contracts and Healthcare Quality delivery. As the Vaccine Medical Director I identified and corrected tremendous overpayment of one of the major and fastest growing pediatric expenses - Vaccines. Within this corporation, I led our division to grow from a 3 provider- 1 office group to a 10 provider - 2 office pediatric group with nationally recognized breastfeeding center while significantly increasing profitability and marketshare. In June 2010 our division left Pediatric Alliance and formed Kids Plus Pediatrics.

Eight years working as in independent contracted physician at a rapidly growing Medicare and Medicaid Health Insurer which was subsequently purchased by United Healthcare. Worked less than 10hr/wk though peaked at 12hr/wk for ~2yrs.I served on the Grievance and Appeals (G&A) panel and credentialing committee. My last three years I served as a consulting Medical Director. I worked closely with the employed medical directors, UR nurses, DME department, operations, claims, utilization management, legal and pharmacy benefit management team.
