TransKarachi is a public sector company established to carry out the project implementation, management and maintenance of the $504 million Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line.The project is sponsored by the Government of Sindh, with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and co-financiers, including the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the French Agency for Development (AFD), and the Green Climate Fund (GCF).Summary of responsibilities:• Management of end to end disbursement cycle against construction and consultancy contracts inline with ADB guidelines and other applicable statutes,• Preparation / monitoring of annual budget considering PC-1, Project Administration Manual and the completion stage of project at activity level using Primavera P6,• Cashflow management and review of operational payment cycles along with bank reconciliations,• Payroll management along with management of Defined Contribution Plans,• Development of Financial Management Manual along with financial policies inline with GoS and ADB guidelines and literature,• Managing Books of Accounts on Cash and Accrual basis for stakeholders,• Financial analysis and reporting (Cash Basis for ADB, Accrual Basis under Companies Act),• Liaising with key stakeholders including Asian Development Bank & other developing partners, Economics Affairs Division (GoP), Planning and Development department (GoS), Finance Department (GoS), Transport & Mass Transit Department (GoS) in relation to financial planning, financial reporting and Project monitoring, • Tax planning at the project level and ensuring tax compliances under Income and Sales tax statutes.

Responsible for Fixed Asset Management, Financial Reporting and Capital budget control and analysis.• Monitoring / improving all fixed asset process cycles (Asset portfolio based on Historical cost as of FY 2020 > 200 billion rupees),• Implementing Fixed Asset Management System (Analytics of specialized asset's life cycles to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability),• Revamping and re-implementing Projects module within Oracle R12, • Financial reporting and Monitoring of Capital budget, and• Managing a team of 6 Junior and Mid-career executives.

I opted to be transferred to IGI Life Insurance after consummation of planned merger and subsequent de-merger of the companies within IGI Group. I was responsible to:• Financial analysis and reporting,• Fixed Asset Management and Project management w.r.t construction of new branches,• Taxation of Pakistan and AJK operations (Liaison with all provincial, federal and AJK Authorities),• ERP implementation and data migration (AS400 to Dynamics 360 and DXC),• Team player in launch of new product line (Vitality) within Life Insurance product mix.

I was associated with IGI Investment Bank as Deputy Manager – Finance and Operations, my core responsibilities included:• Part of decision making team with respect to planned merger of IGI Investment Bank with IGI Insurance and subsequent De-merger of merged entity into IGI Holdings Limited, IGI General Insurance, IGI Investments and IGI Finex Securities,• Tax planning, business & financial analysis,• Tax refunds, Periodic provincial and federal WHT / Advance / Annual returns and representing in tax litigations,• Preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis reports,• Preparing cash flow projections and managing overall cash flows on daily basis,• Managing books of accounts of the Bank, and• Financial reporting and adhoc MIS reports.
