Began my career in Field Artillery and assumed additional leadership responsibilities as a Comptroller.Aide-de-Camp/Secretary of the General Staff, First U.S. Army | (1997 – 1999) • Principal assistant to the Commander supervising a team of 15 while acting as the principle liaison for all subordinate units for financial and operational documentation. • Briefed the Commander on all operations, training, and personnel issues and prepared presentations for the Commander and Deputy Commander. • Managed an annual operating budget and payroll of $1.1M.Division Comptroller/Brigade Fire Support Officer, 101st Airborne Division | (1995 – 1997) • Oversaw a team of eight responsible for the $145M operating budget of a 45,000-person Division.• Developed financial management software that resulted in annual savings of $20M by eliminating waste and operating inefficiencies.• Brigade Fire Support Officer for 2d "STRIKE" Brigade.Deputy Secretary of the General Staff, Army Forces Command | (1994 – 1995) • Managed all administrative policy and procedures for the Commanding General and Deputy Commanding General of the Department of the Army’s largest command. Southwest Asia Comptroller / Budget Director, Army Central Command | (1991 – 1994) • Led a staff of 25 financial and payroll professionals in multiple locations worldwide in formulating and managing a $274M operating budget.• Supported U.S. national security and foreign policy initiatives throughout the Middle East.• Negotiated and administered international support agreements with the governments of Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman.• Authored a Controller Reference Manual that outlined international financial policies and procedures, a 100-page document that was adopted as the Army’s first model for financial oversight and fiscal controls while on contingency operations. The document has been refined and expanded to become the financial doctrine for the US Army during deployments.
