Her work has been featured in several media outlets including Atlanta Magazine, Candid, CW Atlanta, Ebony Magazine, National Public Radio (NPR), Scientific American, Saporta Report, US Black Engineer, and Voyage Atlanta. A sought out contributor for books, magazine articles and other publications also havenwritten her own books Experimental Design Process: A Guide for High School Students to Conduct Research as a Research Scientist and A Guide to hosting STEM Events. Ms. Smith has been recognized by her peers in education and philanthropy as well as the corporate community with local and national awards and honors. She is a member of the Junior League of Atlanta and a former member National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. Northwest Georgia Chapter; alumna of the 2019 Coaching Fellowship, 2018 Foundation Center South (now known as Candid) Boys and Men of Color Executive Director Collaborative Circle and the United Way Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP).
