Ulan Underground

Work experience student partaking in the Glencore Summer Vacation Work Experience program.While at Ulan Underground I have been able to experience underground operations and work on continuous miners, the longwall and see many different aspects of an underground mining operation. Also working on the design, planning, installation and management of an oil/water separation facility to ensure that oily water is separated into its components and the oil is able to be separated and disposed of correctly.

Bulga Open Cut

As a work experience student with Glencore I was given many opportunities to see the operations at Bulga. During this time I spent six weeks on tools with the fitters and then the remainder of my time in the engineering office. -Project management including working with Toyota testing brake performance on mine roads-Creation of procedures, training packages and conducting audits-Creation of a system to cost mine haulage equipment to be sold to other sites from maintenance records, expected component life, parts price lists and overhaul costs-Design and purchasing of an over sized tandem axle trailer and oil tank dispensing system

St Mark'S College, Adelaide

As the IT Officer it was my responsibility to ensure that all students could connect to the network and ensure that any system faults were identified and rectified in a timely manner.I was the intermediary between the students, college and IT contracting company where clear communication between all parties was vital due to the network playing a vital role to a modern studying environment.During my time as IT Officer I was able to begin the planning of a new infrastructure roll out that would see St Mark's College move to a network system which would provide high speed internet access to all areas of the college with a more reliable system.

General building and grounds maintenance including;-Mowing and edging lawns-Planting and maintaining garden beds-Planning and installation of irrigation systems-Building repairs and maintenanceAs part of this role I was also on the commities for:-Health, Safety and Wellbeing committee-Buildings and Grounds committee

Buronga Hill Winery

Laboratory Technician at Buronga Hill Winery, one of Australia's largest wineries with a processing capacity of over 150,000 tonnes. Key responsibilities included;-routine and non-routine analysis on wine and juice samples by chemical and microbiological methods;-documenting and reporting of laboratroy data;-preparing all solutions utilised by the laboratory and wine testing laboratory, as required;-conducting scheduled calibration checks for all laboratory equipment and reporting equipment faults.
