Labor and Deliver renovation consists of 7 private rooms, two postpartum rooms, three triage rooms, locker room, nurse station and 2 C-Section operating rooms. inpatient and outpatient sterilization needs. L&D (located in Building 2825 on Floor 3) is required to be renovated in its current location. L&D cesarean section (“C-section”), Labor Delivery Recovery and Postpartum rooms (LDRPs), and the nursery were last renovated in the 1996 project. A small section of the department had updates in the 2001 project (post-partum rooms along the south wall of L&D only). The current circulation and functional alignment are inefficient; the department currently does not promote patient well-being or encourage patients to continue their care at the MTF. The infrastructure serving L&D, to include the mechanical systems, are shared with SPD and require new equipment and distribution systems to meet criteria.

Work occurred adjacent to operational operating rooms with extensive medical gas and critical utility tie-ins while maintaining a clean environment.RENOVATION: 45,000 SF - Complete demolition and build back of existing laboratory and recovery area housed above kitchen, dietary, clean linen, central supply distribution, decontamination and receiving along with patient floors above and adjacent to ORs. New area includes PACU, registration and operating support areas for staff, doctors anesthesiologist.OR EXPANSION: 4,500 SF - Addition built on top of existing roof area and tied into two existing building requiring extensive MEP relocations.BRIDGE: 150 foot long bridge connecting the third levels of the new horizontal addition to an existing medical services building.Project consisted of 21 tie-ins to existing buildings and built over four existing buildings and interfaced with 26 roofs, 19 new and 7 existing.
