My focus is on scaling science to production, transforming academic findings into usable data products that can have real-world impact. I've been working on this through the eBird Status and Trends project, where we operate large-scale machine learning workflows to transform citizen science and remote sensing data into value-added estimates of avian relative abundance and trends, for use in conservation, management, and policy decision making. I'm interested in how we can develop and scale machine learning workflows to use multi-modal data to make better decisions for our planet. My role has been to lead these efforts and manage projects and products and I'm exciting about opportunities to continue improving my project management and leadership skills around these kinds of efforts.
