As CEO I’m responsible for the day to day running of the charity and the responsibilities delegated by the Board of Trustees. Senior manager for a charity working to increase physical activity levels in Gloucestershire. I have broad cross organisational responsibilities for strategy, operations and delivery as well as personally delivering high impact projects. Typically, projects involve using skills in behaviour change, systems leadership and supporting the creation of Gloucestershire’s social movement for physical activity “We Can Move”.Interesting and exciting projects where I am currently having an impact include:• The use of social investment to facilitate community ownership, whilst providing development funding for new sports and physical activity capital projects• Establishing a new employer led and funded sustainable travel and campaign group to promote better low carbon transport opportunities for employees. At the same time the group campaign for better transport policy to meet the sustainable transport needs of employers and employees• Supporting leisure providers to understand the physical activity system and how they can help to make system level interventions that can increase physical activity levels• Leading the organisations business development strategy and plan to ensure that the organisation has the resources required to undertake impactful work• Securing and delivering external consultancy projects that support sports and physical activity providers to develop their organisations, increased impact, find sustainable funding and secure planning permission

In addition to responsibilities for BBSP1, taking a leading role in the wider development of the Science Park with specific responsibilities for Business Development, Marketing and Business Operations. Achievements included increasing commercial let space from 58% occupied to 100% in two years; increasing occupation in the Innovation Space from 82% to 100% with a long waiting list, increasing conferencing income by 65% over 26 months to over £2,200,000 and quadrupling virtual tenancies. Introducing events to ensure a fun, healthy and active workplace such as South Gloucestershire Food & Drink Festival, S.Glos Business Show and Fitquest bootcamps.

BBSP1 Management - Responsible for the day to day operation and financial outturn of BBSP1. Management of the Innovation Centre tenancies and growth of net income from the business including collection of rents and management of all outgoings. Management of the Forum including meeting and conference facilities and catering contract. Management of the Grow On Centre tenants to help ensure full occupancy. Management of the on site team & managing agents. Responsibility for local PR and communication strategy and implementation.Business Development - Responsibility for marketing and letting of the Innovation Centre. Providing forums and opportunities for existing business to network and collaborate. Maintenance and development of BBSP web site including keeping it completely up to date and developing a credible social media profile. Working to support clients’ progress and to provide appropriate support. “Face of the Park” - recognised as one of the local points of contact for the Bristol and Bath Science Park. Promotion of BBSP in the local community. Championing the ethos and eco system on the park and communicate it at all levels within the business community including press and conferences.

Providing strategic advice and support in relation to the development of the University of the West of England (UWE) University Enterprise Zone.

Implementation of identified projects of strategic importance (e.g. University Technical College, Special Educational Needs School & Berkeley GREEN). Taking a leading role in the setting up and supporting the role of Governance, Finance, Estates, Marketing, Curriculum and Information Technology to ensure that identified projects are delivered on time and within budget. Management of strategic relationships with project partners (University of Gloucestershire, Employers, UTC Members, Governors and Parents).Achievements included establishing a new business focused colleges campus and technology park on a former brown field site, project managing the opening of a new University Technical College and working with cross sector partners to bring forward multiple projects e.g. Higher Education Training facilities and commercial lettings.

Responsible for the Business to Business (B2B) sales income & recruitment target, as well as achievement of the Skills Funding Agency Adult (19+) funding targets. Ensuring expected success rates are achieved and delivering exceptional customer service.Achievements include the successful merger of college departments (following college merger), exceeding funding targets and achieving record apprenticeship numbers and external privately funded income.

Providing strategic advice, guidance and support in the areas of quality, networking and business development. Working with senior managers to support the establishment of a subsidiary company Himilo training during the start-up phase (circa one day per month).

Managing the employer facing roles of the college, business services and apprenticeships from customer inquiry through to and including delivery.Achievements included implementing a new CRM system, specification, design and commissioning a bespoke website, development of new product offering including the entry in to the engineering and nuclear sectors.

Working with employers and stakeholders in the Fashion and Textiles sector to develop the skills needed for future growth and sustainability. Supporting the success of individual projects e.g. Women & Work encouraging women to further develop workplace skills and competencies.

Responsible for managing the delivery and achievement of targets across 12 contracts on behalf of Jobcentre Plus, Department of Work and Pensions and Learning and Skills Council. Managed 7 teams covering 15 counties and totalling up to 60 staff. Responsible for the growth and new business opportunities within the region achieving record income and efficiency.
