After graduating from UNC School of Law in 1975, I practiced real estate and business planning law in Cary, NC for 9 years. Upon leaving the practicve of law, I determined I wanted to learn various aspects of the real estate and development business. Commercial Real Estate - from 1984-1988, I worked in commercial real estate and was a partner in Amerivest Properties in Raleigh, NC and learned various aspects of the commercial real estate business, particularly the identification of growth areas, prioritization of high-priority properties, infrastructure concerns and factors, and working with Sellers to contract for the purchase of their property. RE Development - from 1988-1992, I worked with Atty James Rogers and The Fletcher Group in Raleigh and was responsible for the management of active development projects from purchase of base tract through lot planning, financing and project finanical projections, lot and amenity develeopment to lot sales. In 1992, I began my own real estate development company and have been actively engaged in the real estate development business ever since, primarily residential development. Since Auguts, 2011, I have been the land acquisition manager for Standard Pacific Homes of the Carolinas, in Raleigh, NC. My background gives me a great deal of experience in virtually all aspects of the real estate development business.
