Postdoctoral research in the group of Prof. Jean-Claude Martinou, Department of Cell Biology, University of Geneva.My work as a post-doctoral fellow focuses on the recently identified Mitochondrial Pyruvate Carrier (MPC) in yeast and mammalian cells and how it regulates the transport of the metabolite pyruvate over the mitochondrial inner membrane. The work is supported by a fellowship ("Forschungsstipendium") from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Bonn.

Research in the lab of Prof. Wolfgang Voos, Institute for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IBMB), University of Bonn (Germany).The aim of my Ph.D. work was the characterization of protein quality control in the mitochondrial matrix, especially the role of the molecular chaperone Hsp78 and the protease Pim1 in protection of mitochondrial proteins from oxidative stress and heat-induced aggregation.
