Led the creation of Wearables, Dyson’s newest product category, developing new-to-the-world technology for global markets, including the Dyson Zone – the world’s first air purifying headphones. Established and ran the RDD & Operations business in Shanghai, the first of its kind for Dyson. Built a multi-disciplined team of 30+ across software development, procurement, standards, insights, mechanistics, design engineering and quality. Defined the strategic objectives of the site and how it would help Dyson achieve its growth objectives for the region, putting Asia at the heart of product development. Aligned the strategy of the site with the needs of the global RDD business to maximise its potential, published clear goals and objectives. Introduced Dyson’s first internal trial facility, connecting our engineers to our users to better understand their needs and design products for them accordingly.Led an exploration of smart home partnerships for China, delivered two smart speaker integrations and built the world’s first WeChat mini program for remote machine control.Established the Dyson Technology Summit, bringing project teams together with innovative suppliers to enable our product aspirations. Worked with government bodies and test houses to create and publish novel test methods to accurately assess Dyson machines and position them competitively in the China market. Responsible for developing Dyson’s first range of smart, connected purifiers and the companion App. Managed the integration of Jake Dyson lighting into the Environmental Care category.Developed second generation Dyson Airblade V, and delivered into production.
