I worked at Defra to consider the role of private sector funding in the implementation of the UK's 25 Year Environment Plan, primarily focused on scoping potential for an impact fund in the natural environment.

A commercial adviser to the International Climate Fund, with a focus on corporate finance support to special projects. Key highlights:Renewable Energy Performance Platform (Nov 2015-Jul 2017)Lead negotiator in closing the REPP, involving final commercial terms and enshrining HMG's climate impact goals within the legal documentation. I also serve on the Assessment Committee in reviewing and approving proposals.UK Climate Investments (Nov 2014-Jul 2017)Lead commercial negotiator for DECC's International Climate Fund, in agreeing a development finance investment pilot with the Green Investment Bank. The fund represents a step change in how DECC spends official development assistance (ODA), with a far greater level of insight than when spending through multilateral institutions.- Principal face-to-face negotiator for all key terms of the fund- Procured and instructed legal counsel on key project documents- Managed policy staff and DECC legal to ensure the pilot meets ICF requirementsGreen Deal Finance Company (Nov 2013-Dec 2014)- Corporate Finance adviser to the Household Energy Efficiency team with respect to DECC's involvement in the GDFC- Covered strategic advice about its investment as well as detailed advice (including instructing external legal counsel) on financing documentation
