Early experience as a designer with Cosworth Enigineering (dominated F1, F2 and F3 racing in late 60s) led to an all consuming interest in understanding how successful businesses actually worked. After a first career in manufacturing, consumer goods and services he worked up to a partnership with international consultants AT Kearney in Europe. He moved to Australia in 1987 where he became a partner with the Boston Consulting Group. In 1993 he founded Bevington and Partners to focus on developing and using tools and methodologies for implementing strategic change. His clients have included: ANZ Bank, ACCU, Aurora Energy, Austrade, Australian Computer Society, Australia Post, AXA, BHP, BP, British Rail, CSC, CSIRO, Dandenong Hospital, Deakin University, Department of Defence, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Elders, Fisons, GE Capital, Heinz, HP, Komatsu, Konsortium Logistik, Land Rover, Lion Nathan, Mars, Pfizer, Santos, Shell, Sydney Airport, UK Atomic Energy Authority, Visy Industries and Westfield. He has been a frequent speaker on strategic change and business process management with CBI, ASCPA, CIMA, ACS, Imperial College and Melbourne University and has authored many articles and publications on the subject. His latest book (with co-author Professor Danny Samson of Melbourne University) - Implementing Strategic Change: managing processes and interfaces to develop a highly productive organization – is published in April and can be obtained from Amazon.com.
