In early 2016 I was unsuccessful when I interviewed to become team leader of the insurance department with my inexperience in management cited as the reason for the job going to an external candidate.I used the setback as motivation to expand my skillset and gain further training and experience in management tasks. • Collecting and reporting daily management information using centralised spreadsheets, this included some entry level use of pivot tables.• Holding start up meetings for the whole sales floor to motivate the staff and put them to task for the day or week ahead. • On occasion I have been left to run the room for a full day and on a couple of occasions for a full week due to absence. I was accountable for the result of the team and ensuring that each team member was focused and knew what was expected of them individually. Results did not drop and in one week showed a marked improvement on the weeks prior.• Training of new starters at induction and through their continued development.
