The reasoning was to expand my knowledge and experience of low volume production and to see how I could make a difference with the knowledge I had gained. Working on the most advanced car development programme at the time was to good an opportunity to miss and a real privilege. Working on a new car programme, manufacturing plant I learnt a great deal, I was responsible for the V8 engine unit and helped develop in partnership with Ricardo in Shoreham which in the end lead to produced a high quality, repeatably engine. This needed significant personal investment and teamwork and once launched, then also took responsibility for their hybrid P1 unit including battery module. I worked again with some really interesting people across the whole of the automotive organisation there and enjoyed time plus learnt a lot about myself. In the end the opportunity came to become a manager externally which cemented my move to JLR. Show less
