I am a Computer Science graduate and Software Developer. I have experience with programming, game design, level design, UI design and software testing.I completed my degree at the University of Essex, earning a 2:1 in Computer Science. Before university I studied IT at West Suffolk College and came away with the very best grade, Distinction* Distinction* Distinction*.In October 2019 I joined Orbital Media as a Junior Developer. My primary focus was developing VR and AR apps using the Unity game engine. This role gave me lots of experience in multiple disciplines such as programming, level design, art and testing. In November 2020 I then joined Frontier Developments as a Technical Functionality Tester. I was in charge of testing the internal tools that are used to develop Frontier's games. In my role I used a large suite of internal tools as well as Jira, Confluence and TestRail. I started as a one-man team which expanded to a team of three that I lead. I then became a Graduate Tools Developer at Frontier, developing the tools that I tested in my previous role.My primary programming language is C# which I have used during my time with the Unity game engine for university, work and in my spare time. I have also used C# to develop terminal applications and Windows applications using WPF. I also have a solid understanding of Java as my university course had a large focus on it. I also have gathered a basic understanding of C++, python, HTML/CSS and JavaScript.I have experience with creating games using different technologies including Unity and Java. I also have a basic understanding of how to use Unreal Engine 4.For my final year project for university, I developed an Android video game using Unity. This project had a large focus on procedural generation for the level using Cellular Automata and marching squares. It also contains various AI agents that use the A* algorithm for path-finding. I followed an Agile methodology for this project, using JIRA to manage my tasks. I have a deep understanding of video game design, my lecturer for game design at university was Richard Bartle the developer of the first MUD.I worked at Waitrose for over five years. My roles included replenishing shelves, working on the checkout, checking stock and cashing up tills. Towards the end of my time there I was trained to be a supervisor for the checkouts.Previously, I have partaken in charity work for a charity called 'Tools With a Mission'. They collect and package up tools that are then sent to third-world countries.
