Achieved a first class honours in a biomedical science integrated masters degree (with research placements). The study of ageing- gerontology- is my primary interest. I worked at Warwick University for 6 months in 2023 as a Research Assistant under Prof Andre Pires da Silva. Studying Programmed DNA Elimination in Auanema Rhodensis. I then worked at Brighton and Sussex Medical School as a Senior Anatomy Technician for a year in Brighton.I'm now doing another Research Assistant contract at Warwick University, working again on nematodes under Dr Sally Adams. This post is for 3 months before starting my PhD at Southampton University in October 2024! University experience and prior:Summer work placements:Year 1- Shadowing various PhD students and post docs in a virology lab.Year 3- Bacteriology lab placement while continuing research on my dissertation topic - Neisseria nutritional immunityYear 4- Placement in a molecular biology lab, studying telomeres from mammalian cell lines.Grosvenor Poker table manager - Brighton, 1 year:Worked initially as a poker dealer during university to support finances, soon after I managed multiple tables and trained new poker dealers. Learned a great deal of communication, management and dealing with high pressure (High stakes tables) situations.
