About Tom Borger

Tom combines a unique blend of marketing, general management, technology and strategy consulting experience along with his entrepreneurial passion for creating new business models. He has started a number of businesses in the U.S. and around the globe and has a long history of successfully driving innovation and new value creation at large companies, such as J&J, GSK, P&G and small companies like his internet start-up, innovation and strategy consulting firm, medicinal cannabis, and UVC devices business. He is a restless value creator.As COO of Ilera Healthcare, Tom dramatically increased the revenue run, which positioned the company for its acquisition by Terrascend. He founded and is CEO of TB Innovative--an innovation and marketing strategy consulting firm focused on creating new business models. He published a book on innovation: "Diary of an Innovator - Finding the Path Not Taken," and delivered a TEDx talk called "The Power of Inexperience." He delivers motivational talks on innovation, leadership and “technology-driven business strategy” to global companies and serves as an executive advisor to business leaders. Tom established international business ventures between Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products around the globe. He launched more than 25 brands in multiple countries and served on the Board of the international business units. He managed a $100mm brand and initiated a number of new business models for J&J in the U.S. market. Tom also spent 6 years as Global Head of Information Technology and eMarketing for GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, where he focused on leveraging technology to drive sales. He drove numerous digital initiatives including: e-sampling, e-detailing, and viral marketing. He created a 400-person virtual selling network at 200 universities to increase sales of GSK brands.Tom was founder and CEO of OmniChoice—an Internet business that developed patented decision support software. The company was sold to Call Vision and then VeriSign. Tom holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Duke University and earned his MBA in Entrepreneurial Management/Marketing from the Wharton School of Business. He was an Adjunct Professor teaching at Wharton’s Small Business Development Center (First Steps to Starting a New Business) and at Villanova’s School of Business (Entrepreneurial Marketing).
