3P Human Security is a civil society voice on U.S. foreign policy. 3P believes a people-centered security strategy will be more successful, cost-effective, and sustainable than traditional approaches to national security. 3P works to open channels of communication between U.S. policymakers and local civil society organizations (CSOs) working to build human security from the ground-up through conflict prevention and peacebuilding.3P Human Security is a program of the Alliance for Peacebuilding and works in close collaboration with the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University, the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC), and Notre Dame University's Kroc Institute of International Peace Studies.

The Sonoran Borderlands Peacebuilding Initiative was an eight agency partnership of Mexican and U.S. civil society NGO's and higher educational institutions who together created a coalition to work at building new capacity for a leadership in settings of complex change across a bi-national and bi-cultural civil society to engage in dialogue, education, and applied research in peacebuilding that is both action-oriented and self-reflective to reduce violence, enhance cooperation in economic, social and political arenas and strengthen leadership capacities of formal and informal leaders in northern Sonora and southern Arizona. Other goals were to: ●Articulate strengths, values and traditions of border leaders;●Encourage dialogue between divided peoples and groups to create functional linkages across social levels;●Encourage collaboration between diverse community, governmental, non-governmental, religious and academic institutions;●Educate leaders in leadership strategies integrating diverse yet interdependent issues of human rights, security, governance and economic development;●Build capacity and increase efficacy of leadership to address short-term crises and long-term social change.
