Managing a 61-bedded Residential Home for residents who are living with dementia or other conditions, I am tasked with ensuring that the home provides the highest standard of care for those using the service, as well the management of budgets, stakeholder relationships, staff and ensuring both internal and external compliance with legislation and regulation. During my tensure I have maintained the home at almost full occupancy with zero agency use, as well as maintaining a "good" rating with CQC and ensuring that we work closely with the people we support, their families and friends to provide holistic and meaningful care.

Working for the external regulatory for Social Care in the UK, I was tasked with ensuring that services met the national regulations and provided a good standard of care quality to those that use services. I travelled between a number of different locations and service types and took a risk-based methodology to ensure that people were protected from harm or poor quality care and support. This also included managing inquiries such as safeguarding alerts or complaints, as well as working in partnership with local authorities and other professional bodies.

I began in this organisation as a support worker and eventually became a Service Manager overseeing a number of supported living services across Herfordshire and managing a team of Team Leaders and staff. This included ensuring that the people we supported had access to the daily living skills and community-based opportunities that were meaningful to them, as well as ensuring that the services were compliant with regulations and that we were striving for the best quality of care. The provider was awarded "Outstanding" in all 5 areas by CQC in 2016.
